Privacy policy

Unika Danmark A/S’ Privacy Policy has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (GDPR).

How Unika Danmark A/S Processes Your Data

As the data controller, Unika Danmark A/S processes information about customers, business partners, suppliers, employees, job applicants, and individuals who subscribe to Unika Danmark A/S’ online services or enter into business agreements with the company.

Types of Data We Process

The type of data we process depends on your relationship with Unika Danmark A/S but typically includes your name, address, email, telephone number, occupation, company name (for sole proprietors), bank and payment details.

For employees and applicants, we may also process data such as professional qualifications, personal skills, diplomas, academic documents, publications, employment history, photo, date of birth, national ID number (CPR), salary, absence, and health information.

Most information is provided directly by you. However, data may also be collected from publicly available sources, former employers or business partners, and public authorities.

Applications received by email are deleted six months after the recruitment process has ended.

Purpose of the processing

We process your personal data for different purposes depending on your relationship with Unika Danmark A/S. If you are a student, we process personal data to manage your enrolment at Unika Danmark A/S and, for example, to pass on information to the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science. If you are an employee, we process your personal data to manage your employment at Unika Danmark A/S and will, in that connection, pass on information to the Danish Tax Agency (SKAT), among others. If you are a customer, business contact or partner of Unika Danmark A/S, we use your information to communicate with you. We also use the data to ensure the correct processing of your orders as part of fulfilling our part of an agreement or contract. The data is stored during the contractual period to enable continuous follow-up on deliveries, orders, etc., and personal data is also stored to comply with bookkeeping legislation.

If you have requested delivery of goods, your name, address and telephone number will be passed on to the chosen freight company. All processing of personal data by Unika Danmark A/S is carried out in compliance with legal obligations.

Storage and Disclosure of Data

We store your data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected. Once it is no longer relevant (e.g. upon termination of collaboration or contract), the data is deleted or archived in accordance with bookkeeping laws.

We use third parties for data storage and processing. These data processors act solely on our behalf and are not permitted to use data for their own purposes, in accordance with our data processing agreements.

Data is not transferred to countries outside the EU.

Your Rights

If Unika Danmark A/S processes your personal data, you have the following rights:

  • Right to access, rectification, or deletion of your data
  • Right to object to processing and, in certain cases, to request restriction of processing
  • An absolute right to object to the use of your data for direct marketing
  • If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time (without affecting the legality of prior processing)
  • Right to data portability – to receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format
  • Right to file a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g. the Danish Data Protection Agency – www.datatilsynet.dk)

Restrictions or conditions may apply to some of these rights.
