No more overproduction and waste of energy at Unika

We introduce ABC inventory management

Jeppe Iversen Oddershede, our new logistics coordinator, has started with optimization and clean-up of the finished goods warehouse at Unika Danmark A/S.

To improve production efficiency we want to avoid overproduction, wasted energy and stockpiles of items with low turnover rates, our customers and manufactured products are now carefully reviewed, analyzed and categorized into ABC customers and products.

Jeppe has physically been in the warehouse and compared the stock with the information in the system and the turnover rate on each item. Customers who have had stocks of goods with a low turnover rate has also been involved and been given the opportunity to make a decision about what we are going to do with their extra stock.

We introduce procedures and conditions for just-in-time as well as production for stock. At the same time, employees are informed and continuous monitoring is introduced.

The optimization gives rise to a closer dialogue with our customers and we expect a lot from that.
